We’ve all seen many patterns for a ruffle or Potato Chip scarf. But, I like this little twist on the pattern – the chained edging. Tell me what you think.

Andrea, the designer, was inspired by another pattern. But, as necessity often does, she was inspired to change the pattern to suit her needs – and the amount of yarn she had on hand. To help the rest of us, she has included some good photos of the process. I’m going to make one of these for myself as I’m impressed with the simple but effective scalloped edge which seems to add to the ruffled effect.

I think it looks a little thick, but that is just me.

I really like it, and I can imagine it using with different kinds of yarn. Can I have the pattern?

I love this. I have seen it make with
regular crochet thread rather than yarn.
Do you have any idea where I could get
a pattern for that. They are very delicate
and are a great compliment to a blouse or
sweater.

Sue,
There’s a link in the article to the pattern pictured. Otherwise, google ‘potato chip scarf crochet pattern’ and you’ll find several.
