A NIFTY YARN SWIFT

October 19, by jd wolfe. 4 Comments

I’m all about recycling when we can.  Yarn swifts are typically pretty expensive.  Try this one out!  You can make it easily with items you already have on hand.

I just made this and it works BEAUTIFULLY! The only change I made was to use a larger ceramic coffee mug instead of the mailing box. It works so well and is total vindication for my craft supply pack rat tendencies. LOVE IT!!!

How do I get the directions how to make this swift & is it compatible with the typical ball winder?

    Sheila,
There’s a link to the blog with directions on it. Don’t know about its compatibility with a typical yarn swift – but definitely worth a try.
