DON’T FORGET THE BLOCK CONTEST ENDING JULY 15!
June 30, 2007 |
Here’s a republication of my May 15 post with rules and blocks. You have about TWO WEEKS left to go on this contest. I have a BUNCH of new crochet leaflets and other mags (& maybe some yarn) from my stash for the prize. Don’t Delay - Crochet It Today!!
From May 15, 2007:
Here are a few of my favorite squares - free patterns on the internet - that can be used by themselves or combined to create afghans, sweaters, slippers, scarves, etc. Use your imagination and your stash to create something wonderful.
Take a pic of your ‘masterpiece’ and email it to me. I’ll post the pix that I receive that use one of the squares pictured below. What’s in it for you?
I’ll send some of my stash of crochet books, yarn, or magazines (at least $50 worth altho’ the books and mags may be gently used) to the person I think has used the pattern in the most creative way.
It’s okay if you use more than one square in your creation - but please use ONLY ONE of the squares I’m showing below to be eligible for this little contest.
Contest begins today and ends July 15, 2007. So, get your yarn and hooks ready, you’ve got about two months!
Disclaimer: I’m the only judge. I have my biases. That’s just the way it is ;-).

You know,I’m well past considering myself a beginner-advanced intermediate, maybe. But my Mom, the Frog, has spent more time with my pinwheels than I have. Any hints, Linda?
hi linda,
i love your pinwheel square. sometimes, when i look at it, i see a spider. maybe you could ‘doctor’ it up to make it more spider-ly…
also, it would be effective as the center of a larger motif with the rays emanating out from the central circle, extending to a ring of squares around the central square. make sense??
would love to see other ideas for it.
