Virginia Tech Heart by Suzetta Williams
Both hearts are from a site sent to my by Ken Jones (thatcrochetguy - see my blog roll for a link to ken’s site) sent me:

Don’t you want to make a bundle of these to give all your friends - kiddies, co-workers, lovers, guys, gals, babies?

My little trick (and money saver) is to use a simple safety pin (especially one without a coil) as a pinback.

The usual pinbacks are too bulky for most smaller items - and harder to use. You can find the coil-less safety pins in several sizes and in ‘gold’ or ’silver’ finish at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Joann’s, quilt shops and other retailers, including online. They’re really inexpensive. I also use them as stitch markers AND it’s easy to place a small ALPHABET bead on such a pin to create a handy hook size marker to attach to all those WIP’S hanging around your house.

Suzetta has a nice story about the Virginia Tech hearts on her blog along with her pattern for creating the hearts.

She also has a bunch of other free patterns - crochet, knit, felting - on her site. Why not make this beauty for someone special? Don’t you love the color?
