WOULD YOU LIKE TO WIN A COPY OF THIS NEW BOOK?

If so, enter my June, 2011 GIVEAWAY!

Here’s how.  In the Comments section below, post a link to your favorite Irish Crochet pattern online (either free or not) with an explanation as to why it’s special.  It’s that simple.  At the end of the month, I’ll look through all the links to determine which pattern I think is the best.  This can be a pattern designed by anyone so long as it’s posted online – or it can be your original design that you post online for us to see – with a pattern that is either free or we can pay for.

As always, I’m the final judge of this competition.  I have my prejudices and preferences.  That’s just the way it is.  Giveaway is open from today through 11:59 PM June 30, 2011 and is available only to those with mailing addresses in the USA.

Start posting…………….now!  NOTE:  ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, PLEASE!

I bought it sometime ago and admit I haven’t made it yet. It is hard! I think part of it uses # 80 thread, shudder. Now that I am thinking of it I will go and look for it.

I like this one because it is free, easy to access and shows you a lot of stitches. It can be made fairly quickly and given as a gift to almost anyone – who doesn’t need a pin cushion?

I’m a beginner to Irish crochet. I liked this pattern because I found it a clear, simple introduction to the Irish style with a beautiful and useful result (hair bands, bows, pins, purse applique, etc., etc… http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa030803.htm

I liked this Irish lace pattern because Yarn is used rather than thread.

I like the blouse pictured in this site about half way down: http://chocolatebunnicrafts.blogspot.com/. I love the many patterns of irish crochet ’cause it take time to make these and they are more beautiful then patterns that takes very little time to create.

    Thank you,
    Maxine Miller

I like this pattern for an Irish Rose. Besides being beautiful, it can be incorporated into so many items: Afghans, doilies, scarves, shawls, sweaters, jewelry, etc.

I really like this site because it has a lot of motifs that you can use in hundreds of different ways. Some Irish crochet is VERY difficult, but one motif at a time is just fun.

I would love this book. I am getting back into crocheting in my retirement

I love Irish patterns but all the ones I have are hard copy not online. I know that means I can’t enter your competition but I’d love to see some reviews on the patterns in the book, what it costs and where to source it.
    Regards
    Kristin

Hi, I love this one, so frilly and feminine. http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80771AD.html
I really like the one on the front cover of the book, would love to see the rest, hugs, Mary

Even though this is a “Russian Crochet Magazine” Some of the Irish lace pieces especially the shawls are so beautiful!
There is a purple/lilac pattern of an Irish crochet shawl, that will probably be the first item I ever crochet for ME. I’ve always either given away all my crochet items or sold them.
I think it’s about time that I make something for myself, and I want it to be special!
