I love to crochet flowers. I want to make some from this book to put into my art journal – particularly since my art tutor told me that my craft wasn’t ‘art’ therapy because it didn’t use paint!

I just bought this book and I love it!! I have her first book, Crochet Bouquet, and when I saw on her blog the Russian Picot flower I knew I had to have this book too! For myself I will be dabbling in free form crochet and try to use some of her flowers. Although I already have my copy, if I were to win I’d use it for another giveaway on my blog. 31405 is my zip.

  76. Phyl on June 17, 2012 4:45 am

My dh and I do geocaching and I’ve been leaving little flowers that I crocheted in the caches as my “signature trinket”. I’ve been making the same two styles of flowers so far, but I would definitely use some of the different flower styles from this book to widen my selection. If you aren’t familiar with geocaching, it’s like a treasure hunt in which someone hides a cache and when you find it, you take out a trinket and replace it with one of your own. So that’s how I would use the flower patterns from this book. My zip code is: 48187.

My brother in law just gave me a pitcher and washbowl set that is crying out for a flower arrangement to go on the hall table. We can’t use dried flowers and I don’t like plastic, so these flowers will be the perfect solution.

I can also see crocheting or knitting plain afghan blocks and appliqueing bouquets to the blocks to form an afghan. My zip code is 33126.

  97. Laura on June 18, 2012 8:48 am

Bookmarks definitely, and I can see actually crocheting a garden and modpodging it onto nursery walls (I have five grandbabies, so inevitably everything is for the babies!), or framing them. I’m also a scrapbooker, and they would make wonderful scrapbook elements. My best friend is a quilter and embroiderer and she would LOVE these… So I guess, really, I’d be doing the same thing with them that you do with real flowers: give them away. :)

I just finished making a baby blanket at the last minute so I made a granny square and added flowers on the corners which really made it stand out. I would like to add some flowers to some tote bags for the beach and camp. I am also thinking about adding some to some tank tops for my daughter-would be a lot cheaper than the ones at Justice! My zip is 28208.

  107. Melissa Boykin on June 19, 2012 5:34 am

In looking at the book and reflecting on things I could do, I think I would use the book to make bouquets of flowers to give to people who need them. Those who are possibly having bad days or those individuals who are in nursing homes. My personal favorite flower is Gerberas so I think I would use bright colors so they would brighten any room they would be in. I would possibly use them on baby blankets in the future but my thought would be if I won the book to use to make bouquets for others. 29078.

neautiful – I make hats for little girls but think these would look brilliant as a garden in a row on a bag – just like an English cottage garden – Uk SR3 3SB

I have never crocheted flowers before. I’ve always wanted to try, but my girls were all little hellion tomboys. Now that they are teenagers, they have become a little more feminine. I’d like to applique some of their things with the flowers to give their rather basic things a little flair.

I am in the process of making a “curtain” for my picture window. Making Crochet flowers and then crocheting them together along with leaves. I saw this on a blog one day and have not been able to find it again.

  120. Tracy on June 21, 2012 5:25 am

I would use them as a binding brooch for crochet chains formed into a necklace / scarf type accesory. I saw a pic where the young lady made very many chains, both long and short in loops, then used yarn to bind them together. The binding looked heavy, like a wooden handle. She wore the binding near her shoulder, but I could tell that it would migrate to center front. It needs a brooch pin to hold it in place. Flowers would dress up the binding, a pin could be attached to the back and Zip! One has a corsage and necklace and brooch all in one.

HI. This year my family (immediate and extended) is having a “second hand, handmade or locally made Christmas”. All presents we give will fit into one or more of these categories. I would use this book to brighten and beautify the hats, mitts, scarves and countless other handmade gifts for my wonderful, environmentally and economically conscious family!
