SOMETHING OLD - SOMETHING NEW

December 11, 2007 |

Most of you who have been reading my blogs or emails about crochet for any amount of time have read my opinion about companies ‘recycling’ patterns - selling them as NEW with only a change of yarn type or color. This is a persistent problem in the crochet world as I see it.

Today, I found a notable exception to my complaint. Annie’s Attic has reissued a pattern that has been very much in demand. Here it is:

While this is not a pattern I plan to try anytime soon, it is certainly one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen - and fully worthy of being reissued. The colors in this picture, and undoubtedly the yarn called for in the ‘new’ pattern, are different than the original I’ve seen for sale on Ebay. But, I’m very pleased with Annie’s Attic for this reissue. This one truly deserves updating - much more than the simple potholders and booties that they usually devote ‘new’ patterns to.
