It is the yarn that makes that pattern pop. Knitting uses about one-third as much yardage as crochet for the same area of material. That yarn costs about seven dollars each ball, and the pattern wants from 13 to 25 balls of it. If you're that wealthy, hire me to teach you to knit it! That would be easier than trying to replicate it in crochet. It could be done as a crochet project, but it wouldn't look the same even if you used the identical yarn. Also, it would be thick and heavy enough to withstand a Montreal winter, never mind some spring breezes or air-conditioning!
