The latest issue of Crochet World will bring the spirit of autumn to your crafting. Our featured section, Fall Reflections, spotlights projects that celebrate the colors and bounty of autumn, such as the adorable Mr. Turkey Wreath featured on the cover. Other projects in this section include an apple pot holder, a pumpkin table lantern, autumn leaves napkin ties and a lovely marigolds throw. In this packed-full issue you’ll also find beautiful doilies, a colorful throw, a variety of stylish fashion accessories, and even a whimsical crochet spider that’s sure to add a fun touch to your Halloween party table.

You won’t want to miss our wrap-up to our latest series of adorable patchwork animals, a pony that will steal your heart just as much as his predecessor patchwork pals have done. Girls Crochet Handbags – A Sweet Little Crochet Bag Pattern With Vintage Charm

This is a cute, no-fuss crochet bag pattern that feels very handmade in the nicest possible way. The Girls Crochet Handbags project on CraftBits uses Lily Sugar’n Cream cotton yarn, a 5 mm hook, and simple single crochet rows to create an easy tote-style bag, finished with straps and little crochet flowers for extra detail.

What I like about this one is that it is simple enough to play around with. The pattern suggests changing colours to make stripes or edging, so it would be easy to match it to a child’s outfit or just use up those leftover cotton yarn bits we all keep pretending are “too useful to throw away.” The sample bag is worked to around 50 rows, so you can also tweak the size a little if needed.

It definitely has that older-style craft pattern feel, which can be charming, but it also means you may need to read through the instructions carefully before starting. Even one of the comments mentions the wording being a little confusing, so I would say this is best for crocheters who are comfortable filling in the occasional gap rather than absolute beginners wanting lots of hand-holding.
