This is a basic crochet pattern for a tea pot cozy that is perfect for beginners. It is designed to fit a standard size tea pot and can be easily adjusted to fit a larger or smaller tea pot.

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in any color of your choice
  • Crochet hook size H/8 (5.00mm)
  • Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch

Instructions:

  1. Start by chaining 21 stitches.
  2. Turn and work 1 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across.
  3. Chain 1 and turn.
  4. Continue working 1 sc in each stitch across for a total of 20 rows.
  5. Once you have reached 20 rows, fold the piece in half, matching up the edges and then slip stitch the edges together to form a cylinder shape.
  6. Slip stitch in the top and bottom of the cylinder to close the top and bottom.
  7. Slip stitch around the top of the cozy to create a ruffle effect.
  8. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Your basic crochet tea pot cozy is now complete. You can make it in any color you like, and you can also make it bigger or smaller by adding or subtracting rows.

This cozy is a great way to keep your tea warm and also to add a personal touch to your kitchen. It’s a perfect project for beginners to practice basic stitches and it’s easy to follow. Happy Crocheting!
