Wish I’d thought to combine self-striping yarn with modular construction. This combination creates a really interesting but simple to create effect. The babyghan shown is knit, but check out the diagram to figure out an easy way to convert this idea to crochet to produce the same effect.
This design is a ‘throw back’ to those quilt designs I wrote about a couple weeks back. An optical illusion that’s fairly easy to obtain with motifs and yarn that does more than half the ‘design’ work for you.
