I’ve featured this artist (Odile Gova of WoolyFabulous) before, but I have just rediscovered her! Her work is truly amazing and wonderfully inspirational. I don’t know how she has time to do one thing other than crochet! I became enraptured with her felted creations (enough to order her tutorial) since I enjoy making felt from my crochet as well as from thrift store sweater finds. This time of year, one can easily find beautiful sweaters that are 100% high end woolens (from angora to mohair to cashmere) for $1 to $2. I try to find men’s sizes since there is even more feltable fiber in those larger sizes. Even moth holes in old sweaters and coats can be worked around if you want to felt the fabric. Odile’s pieces of brass zipper embellished felt are stunning.
But, Odile is a multi talented artist, so she has plenty of pure crochet inspiration for us too. Also, she is a thrift store ‘junkie’ like I am! I have been known to ‘rescue’ everything from doilies to tablecloths which I am often able to purchase for less than $1. It’s very hard for me to pass up all that lovely handwork that was created with love in every stitch. I’ll love it now! Odile has found creative ways to incorporate those old beauties in her upcycled offerings.
There is just no way for a fiber lover to not learn something from every photograph on her site. Pinterest is full of her goodies. Just ‘bing’ her and you’ll be ‘gone’ for hours. But, you’ll enjoy the trip!

Looking at the thumbnail picture in my feed reader, it looked like pies with artistic pie lids. Maybe it could also work as inspiration for creative bakers?

These are kinda neat! Nobody really wears things like this where I live. They’d be great to sell in a tourist town tho. They have an antique-ish look to them. Thanks, Jd!
