Crochet Patterns Christmas Afghan Patterns

November 21, 2017 by Shellie Wilson

Welcome to our collection of free Christmas afghan patterns! If you’re looking for a festive and cozy way to celebrate the holiday season, then you’ll love these crochet afghan patterns. Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or just learning the craft, you’ll find something in this collection that you’ll love.

These afghans are perfect for snuggling up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa, or for wrapping up in on a cold winter’s night. They also make wonderful handmade gifts for loved ones or family at Christmas time. In fact, I’ll never forget the time I made a Christmas blanket for an elderly relative who was having their final Christmas.

A few years ago, I had an elderly relative who was in the hospital during the holiday season. They weren’t expected to make it through the Christmas, and it was a very difficult and emotional time for our family. I wanted to do something to bring a little bit of comfort and joy to my relative during their final Christmas, so I decided to crochet a blanket for them.

I chose a beautiful Christmas afghan pattern with a festive red and green design. It took me a few days to complete, but I was determined to finish it in time for Christmas. When I presented it to my relative, their face lit up with joy and gratitude. They told me that it was the most special gift they had ever received, and it meant so much to them to have something handmade and personal to hold onto during their final days.

I’ll never forget that moment, and it’s a reminder to me of the power of handmade gifts to bring comfort and joy to those we love. I hope that these free Christmas afghan patterns can inspire you to create something special for your own loved ones this holiday season.

These crochet patterns are the perfect addition to your Christmas crochet projects list. When will you start your Christmas Crochet projects? For bigger projects like these crochet Christmas afghans I like to get started around august, it gives me a bit of time to get my ideas together and not have to rush my crochet.  Of course, something always comes up or I start a little side project and end up rushing anyways.
