Fall is the time to bring in some plants to winter inside. I have a few on the front porch, including Henrietta, a rhododendron that my daughter started in her dorm room many years ago. It now resides on my kitchen window sill in the winter and on the front porch in summer. It has a ‘plain jane’ black plastic pot – a larger version of the one it was ‘born’ in. Certainly doesn’t match my decor! So, when I saw this idea, I decided to give Miss Henrietta an upgrade.
This idea also has other applications that are whizzing through my mind. First, this would be a really easy way to cover a bunch of mismatched containers to create attractive accents for you home decor. And, what about holidays? How cute would it be to work up some in Christmas colors to hold your flatware for a buffet dinner? How about filling one or two with ornaments or for Easter, some pastel eggs?
You see how my mind works?? Crazy, right? But, we all enjoy smaller projects that can be completed with a single skein of yarn or one that uses up partial skeins. So, splurge on a single skein of something would look perfect on table to hold your crochet hooks or to hold pens and pencils on your desk. Make one for a teacher gift and fill it with Hershey Kisses. – or even a plant.

WOO HOO!!! Thanks so much for the feature. And you’re right, I already have plans to make seasonal versions because I don’t want to see the plain jane brown pots again.
