For all of us yarn lovers, a program like this can seem like Christmas four times a year! They are called ‘swatches’ but they are really just samples of about 12 inches in each of about 30 yarns. The idea is to get a nice sampling of the latest yarn releases, to observe the color selection and get to pet the yarn. If I had to mail order most of my yarn, this would be a must-have for me as I am very picky about the ‘hand’ of a yarn. Only by touching the yarn can you get a clear idea of how it will feel in your hands and work up on your hook.
How it works is simple. You join (it’s in the UK but swatches can be mailed anywhere in the world) and four times a year, you’ll receive samples of the latest yarn offerings. You can get all the particulars at the minerva crafts site and sign up if it’s right for you.
