This is a great idea for a quick Christmas (or just Winter) gift for an adult or child. You can purchase like-new sweatshirts at thrift stores or get them at a very reasonable price at mass marketers. Same for long-sleeve tee shirts. Pick your recipient’s favorite color yarn and work up a quick applique using the tutorial you’ll find here along with the pattern.
Anneliese made these snowflake shirts for her daughters, but I think they’d work well for any female – and a lot of guys. How about a camouflage yarn snowflake? I can see that appealing to a certain guy. For a prissy girl (or your favorite Princess), use a yarn with some sparkle in it or carry along some size 10 sparkly yarn with some sport weight or worsted weight yarn. Use worsted weight to make a ‘full size’ snowflake for the front and several more in matching or coordinating size 10 or 20 thread to sprinkle over the arms or back of the shirt – or to add to a hair bow. You’ll be their favorite crocheter!
You’ll also enjoy looking at all the pretty things at Anneliese’s Etsy shop. She’s a master of crochet, knit, sewing, and paper pretties!
