Easy Moss Stitch Pocket Scarf – Free Crochet Pattern

September 25, 2025 by Shellie Wilson

This cozy and customizable pocket scarf is worked in the ever-so-satisfying moss stitch, giving it a beautiful texture and relaxed drape that just begs to be snuggled into. It’s the kind of project that looks effortlessly stylish but feels like a warm hug — ideal for crisp morning walks, evenings by the fire, or those days when you want to be comfy and put together.

Designed to match your wingspan, this scarf wraps you up perfectly from end to end. The pattern includes easy-to-follow size options from Small to 2XL, so you can tailor it to your exact fit — whether you’re petite, tall, or somewhere in between. And let’s talk about those pockets — big, practical, and perfect for warming your hands or stashing your phone, a snack, or your latest WIP notes.

Whether you’re crocheting it for yourself, making it as a thoughtful handmade gift, or getting a head start on market prep, this moss stitch scarf is a relaxing and rewarding project you’ll want to make again and again. Plus, with simple construction and a rhythmic stitch repeat, it’s beginner-friendly and a great way to show off your favorite chunky yarn.

So grab your hook, pick your color, and let’s make something cozy you’ll actually wear.
