I have always loved crocheting and when I learned about the Red Heart Preemie O’Go Crochet Octopus pattern, I knew I had to make some for the premature babies at my local hospital. These octopuses are designed with eight arms to provide a sense of security and comfort for the babies.
I decided to use Red Heart Super Saver O’Go yarn, as it is a soft and durable yarn that is perfect for creating a toy for a baby. I picked out my favorite colors and got to work. The pattern is easy to follow, and I practiced my single and double crochet techniques while crocheting in rounds.
It didn’t take long for me to finish one octopus, and I was so excited to make more. I ended up making a total of ten octopuses, each with its unique color combination. I was so pleased with how they turned out, and I couldn’t wait to donate them to the hospital.
I contacted my local hospital, and they were thrilled to receive the octopuses. They told me that these octopuses would be given to premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to provide them with a sense of security and comfort.
It was such a fulfilling experience to be able to make something that would bring comfort to these tiny babies and their families. I felt proud knowing that my octopuses would be a source of comfort for the babies during their stay in the hospital. I also knew that they were machine washable and dryable which made it easy to maintain and keep them clean.
Making these octopuses was an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves crocheting and wants to make a difference in their community.
