Granny Squares are a perpetual favorite. Here is a nice way to finish off those projects with a pretty edging. It’s pretty simple

I also like the way Lucy finishes her colorful granny square blanket here . There’s not really a pattern or tutorial for this, but with this close-up photo, you can figure it out yourself. I’ve used this technique successfully several times. Just play with the number of chains and stitches til you get a combination that looks right to you.
There are plenty of other ways to edge or finish off your granny squares and granny stitch patterns. Using color properly can really pull the project together. Remember, the granny square is one of the most basic and frequently used of all crochet patterns. With a little experimentation you can make it your own.
