I love these Crochet food covers as they remind me of being at Grandmas house. I think they were always on the sugar and the cream and maybe over a plate of biscuits (if we had been good that is)

Monte the Dog Crochet Pattern – A Cozy Scarf with Personality
If you’re on the hunt for a crochet project that’s equal parts adorable and practical, let me introduce you to Monte the Dog from Leisure Arts. This little guy isn’t just cute—he doubles as a scarf, which makes him a super fun and wearable make for kids (or the young at heart!).
Monte is part of the Amigurumi Animal Scarves collection, and the pattern is designed by Ida Herter. The finished scarf measures about 5 inches wide and 39 inches long, which is a great length for a child-sized accessory. It wraps up warmth and whimsy into one loveable little package.
The pattern is listed as “easy,” and I’d say that’s fair—as long as you’re comfortable with basic crochet stitches and can follow along with some simple shaping and amigurumi techniques. You’ll be crocheting parts of the dog (head, ears, etc.) and sewing them onto the scarf, so if you enjoy putting together pieces like a soft puzzle, you’ll love this.
You’ll need a mix of yarn colors—tan, red, green, brown, aran, and blue. The pattern doesn’t require a ton of each, so it’s a great stash-busting project if you’ve got scraps lying around. Don’t forget a yarn needle and some stitch markers; they’ll make your life easier during assembly.
