This is a picture of a round ripple babyghan that I recently finished. I just love the bright colors in it. It’s crocheted from three different variegated sock yarns. Obviously, the skeins I used have related colors and each skein was 100 grams, but there were still plenty of ends to weave in. Not my favorite thing to do!

The idea for this particolar round ripple afghan came from the Wald Afghan. The pattern uses three different colorways in Berocco sock yarn. The Wald Afghan pictured here requires 6 skeins of the sock yarn and all those darned hexagons! No way was I gonna make all those motifs and then sew them together. I saw and admired the finished afghan at my LYS and decided I could come up with another way to let those three different variegateds play together.
Fast forward a while. I was destshing and ran across the bag containing those three skeins of yarn. So, I put my web surfing cap on and dug around to find just the right pattern to show off these yarns. Since I love the round ripple, it seemed right for the yarn. So, I found this pattern and decided to go for it.
I am very happy with the results. And, I didn’t have to sew any motifs together!

Here’s another view of my round ripple. I love those cheery colors and think a baby will too. Round ripples are positively addictive, especially with a variegated yarn. I’m always looking forward to see the next color combo! Here’s the pattern I used. Easy to follow.
