RECYCLE THOSE CROCHET MISTAKES

Now, she’s just recycling wool sweaters into very useful and attractive projects, but she’s giving me more ideas.  I’ve blogged on this topic before.  You KNOW how I love the whole notion of recycling crafts.  This is one great website for that idea.

Here’s whats flying around in my brain.  Make that diaper bag and embellish with crochet.  Make that wreath and sew or glue on some crocheted snowflakes or flowers or whatever other seasonal goodies one can make.  Remember my idea to make a wreath with crocheted items on it?  This would be a great foundation for that.  Just make it larger and maybe affix those felted squares to a straw or even cardboard wreath (or a shape you cut out yourself) then add on those embellishments.  The one pictured is really small, but you could still embellish with a tiny crocheted garland.  How cool would that be?

The only limitations here are how many crocheted, knitted, or thrift store sweaters or afghans (high wool content works best for felting) can you get your hands on?  At $2-3 for a 100% wool sweater at Goodwill any day of the week, I can get my hands on a bunch.  Right now, I have several on hand awaiting the tender mercies of the washer and dryer.
