So, what’s special about this cloche? It doesn’t look dramatically different from other crocheted hats I’ve seen. I’m not enamored of the color (not a good choice for me). I do like the stitch pattern but I’m deterred by those single crochet rows in the brim. But I do like the fact that this is a lined hat and that the tutorial has great information for recreating the stitch pattern and the lining!
Laura, the designer of this pretty hat, has learned by trial and error to create this special cloche. It’s one I’ll definitely make for my mother who loves to pop on a hat every day of the year unless it’s above 90 degrees! My only problem will be if she wants one in more than one color! Here’s where you can find the pattern and tutorial so you can make your own cloche.
The bonus you’ll find when you poke around Laura’s site is the nifty ear-warming add-on to a man’s hat. My son will want one of these!
