Crocheters are an inventive group. One way or another, we find creative uses for otherwise cast off items, solve storage problems with crafty use of space, and repurpose all kinds of things to make our crochet lives easier.
Here’s a great idea Theresa Colvin came up with to keep her two skeins of yarn from tangling as she crocheted. Even if you don’t have your own toddler handy, rapidly outgrowing her denim capris, you can find a pair at a garage sale or thrift store, sew the bottoms of the legs closed, and create your own portable device to keep your yarn from tangling when you’re using two skeins. Of course, there’s nothing to keep you from stitching 2 or 3 pairs of capris together if you have 4 or 6 skeins you’re working on. Go for it! Lots cheaper and cuter than the plastic versions you can buy at Michael’s and much more attractive and portable than the 2 liter soda bottle version. Cheers to Theresa for her creativity!

Too cute. I don’t have a toddler any more, but summer and yard sales are coming so I think I may find a pair of toddler capris to use. I am going to try this.

If you added shoulder straps it could then be portable to carry around while you crochet.

That is one of the best ideas I’ve seen! I love it! Way cuter than what you can buy to hold your yarn. So ingenious!

That is a great idea, makes you wonder ‘why didn’t I think of that?’. The trick of adding straps is great too!
