Flipflops are dirt cheap right now.
This would be a great time to buy up a bag full of them and use your partial skeins to create some really cute wearables. There are still plenty of Summer days in these parts to wear these cuties. But, don’t forget all those kids heading for dorms in the Fall. They need some special flipflops to keep them from getting all those scummy things waiting on the floors of dorm showers. Now, they’ll be able to tell their flipflops from everyone else’s. Think school colors, team colors, favorite flowers, and so forth. It won’t take you long, using Kara’s tutorial, to work up a bunch of very special yet inexpensive slip-ons.
Just a note – this evening I was in Michael’s and saw piles of all colors and sizes of flipflops for $2. They have short sleeve tee shirts for $2 too! I think I’d work up an extra one of Kara’s flowers and pin it to the front of a color matched tee. Now, what a cute little set that would make for the kiddies at the pool. $4 and a little yarn, the tutorial, and your handy work – what a great combination. I’ve seen the flipflops for as cheap as $1/pair. You can’t beat that! Make some now!

I love those flip flops! I am buying up some just for the sole of them. I am crocheting a whole pair and need the soles for an insert between the two layers of the crocheted foot. They are actually crocheted flip flop slippers. I am making them for my daughter for Christmas. Yes! Christmas. She lives in Florida LOL They are really nice and here is the site for them if anyone is interested. I think you will really like them. http://www.craftown.com/Adult-Flip-Flop-Slippers.html. These are crocheted with cotton yarn.
and here is a fuzzy flip flop slipper pattern for the little girls in your life. http://www.craftown.com/Crochet-Flip-Flop-Slippers.html. These are crocheted with Bernat Pipsqueak yarn (some kind of fuzzy yarn) Just copy and paste these sites into your browser. Enjoy and happy crocheting!
