I was sent a link to this handsome tie. It’s a vintage pattern but I think the tie would work well with more modern menswear. What do you think?

Here’s another vintage beauty from the same site. Reminds me of the pillbox type hat worn by my mom’s generation when I was a kid. If you’re not a hat wearer, consider working one up for a local theater company. It’s hard for them to come up with truly vintage items that aren’t ‘tired’.

Thanks for finding the tie pattern…I will be using it for a themed b-day party this coming July. A Harry Potter party and the guys will be wearing ties in the house colors.

I have several vintage pattern books, including a reproduction of shawls from the late 1800’s. It is awesome, though the yarns used then were quite different and one has to play with yarns and hooks to get it right.

i do not have a website yet but i think ties never really go out of style and am considering buying lots of old ties in silk to make pillow cases and unique clothes or quilt tops
