What little girl wouldn’t love to take her lunch money to school in this sweet little pouch? I’d like to and I haven’t bought a school lunch in at least 150 years! As usual, this speaks to me because it’s a great way to use up all those yarn scraps we all have on hand. It’s a super quick project that you could work up in quantity. This might even be just the project for a Brownie badge project as the girls would enjoy making it enough to learn basic crochet stitches. There’s also room for a lot of adaptation here – yarn weight, colors (of course), tassels, and the use of buttons or beads for the eyes or work them up completely in crochet. What fun!
The pattern comes from ChiWei Ranck and is free on her site. She has a variety of other freebies you need to check out. Visit the Project Page to see them. There’s plenty of talent from this creative designer and plenty of inspiration there for the rest of us!

This is adorable! I found an owl book bag that would match this. 3 grandgirls! Each with a different assortment of their favorite colors…. Plus, some spending $ to go inside this little change purse. The local store had several of those gold $1.oo pieces the we swapped paper for coins. So…. An idea of filling the bags & coin purses with goodies from G’ma’s next visit! Hugs!
