ANOTHER BOOK GIVEAWAY!

December 8, 2008 by jd wolfe

Back in July, 2008, I wrote a less than glowing review of this book.  Since then, I’ve acquired another copy – shiny and new.  So, I’m gonna give it away.

The book is quite attractive.  You can read my review and learn more about the book.  It would make a nice gift for a beginning crocheter on your gift list.  Nice photos and schematics of basic crochet.

Here’s a link to my original post on this book, containing all the books particulars:

http://crochet.craftgossip.com/lacy-crochet-a-book-review/2008/07/16/

So, if you would like to receive my extra copy of this book, you need to enter this contest.

This time, I’m asking that you post a link to your favorite crochet blog in our Comments Section.  I’ll go through all those links and determine two things:

Which is a blog I haven’t seen before   AND/OR

Which is the best crochet blog.

So, get surfing and post your blog entry here.  ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PLEASE. Contest is open from today (12/8/0/) til Monday 12/15/08.  Winner will be announced 12/16/08 and book should be mailed in time for you to gift it or enjoy as a gift for yourself!!

This site is where I go to get all the ideas I used to help the people in Iowa after the floods feel like they were home again.

This one doesn’t have a lot of crochet patterns, but it has a few really nice ones, good recipes, and gorgeous pictures of England.

As a beginning crocheter, I think “Learn to Crochet” – http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/ is one of the best sites on the web. Of course, http://crochet.craftgossip.com is a great site too! 🙂

I just love this crochet site. Cheryl is easy to deal with and always ready to help with her patterns. She has patterns for dolls, and babies. Her patterns are easy to follow and she is prompt in emailing them to you. I know when I need a nice pattern for a baby shower or to outfit my reborn doll that Cheryl’s is the place to go.

I used to love reading this blog and it’s usually the first one I read. It inspired me to go back to crocheting; however, she hasn’t blogged since August 2008:

My next favorite is this blog because she blogs everyday and her color choices are awesome:

I’m not much of a blogger type person. I don’t have a blog or look at many blogs. The reason that I’m saying this blog is because this contest has allowed me to find some really good blogs. Most of the blogs that I’ve come across that say crochet or knit have just a little about crochet or knit & then a lot about family, vacations, & whatever else. I’m mostly a self taught crocheter & knitter.

Cute Donut Monkey Crochet Kit

I mean… who wouldn’t fall in love with a monkey hugging a donut? This Cute Donut Monkey Crochet Kit from HiCrochet might just be the most adorable thing I’ve seen all week. It’s sweet, silly, and totally irresistible. Whether you’re new to amigurumi or just love a good weekend project that makes you smile, this kit has everything you need to bring this donut-loving little monkey to life. The design is playful and full of personality—and let’s be honest, that donut accessory is a whole mood.

This kit would make the cutest gift—either made up or as a DIY surprise for a crafty friend. It’s beginner-friendly, super fun to stitch, and the final result is something you’ll want to show off on every shelf (or maybe sneak into your snack drawer for fun). If you’re looking for a lighthearted project with maximum “aww” factor, this little donut monkey definitely delivers. Let me know if you make one—I’d love to see how yours turns out!
