CROCHET FOR DANCE??

December 20, 2009 by jd wolfe

Ok, so I found ANOTHER addiction – Zumba!  Check out my walking blog for a brief article on Zumba if you’re not familiar with it.  (http://ewalkandtalk.blogspot.com/) I know I need some wrist sweatbands cause I get such a workout.  How about a headband too?  What else can I crochet for my workout – for dance, the gym, or whatever?  I went looking online and came up with some interesting and useful ideas – for all kinds of exercise.

How about bellydancing (not me, I assure you!):

This site will allow you to crochet a headband or wristbands to fit your own measurements:

Of course, if you’re a serious dancer (like a ballerina), you’ll need legwarmers.   Free patterns for those abound on the net.  Just google ‘legwarmers’ and pick your pattern.  I made them by using sleeve patterns from a cardigan.  Works just fine!!

Of course, it never hurts to have a bag JUST for your dance things.  This would do the trick:

And, finally, a ‘must have’ in my life – for music to move by, I need a mobile ipod carrier.  What could work better than an crocheted armband holder?  Senso has a free pattern, and it works up quick.  Find it here in PDF format:

I love crochet stuff for dance and working out, I also do zumba and I think I might have to crochet myself some headbands! I recently made crochet bun covers for my daugter’s ballet class and she loves them!
