CROCHETING WITH ONE HAND TIED BEHIND YOUR …?

March 22, 2007 by jd wolfe

abilities! well, beyond my abilities. i just can’t hold the yarn with this cast on! there are any number of other things i can’t do or can do poorly or very slowly – like typing. gives me far more respect for the many crocheters out there who are hampered by disability of any kind.

but, i persevere. i am spending much of my ‘crochet’ time surfing the net for future projects and reading books i have put off in favor of crochet. here’s my next crochet project:

Drops Crochet Shawl Pattern

i saw it ‘in person’ last night thanks to ronnie titus – and i fell in love!

Hey JD! I just made that shawl next month and loved the pattern! Plan on making another one with much more fiber, only used 7 small balls of Senso for the one I did, pretty small but nice none the less. Have a good one, KrisR

Hi, I only have the use of my right hand for the past 15 years. Up until then I was an avid “hooker”. I crocheted every moment that i could. Is there anyone out there that can tell me or show me how to do it with one hand.
    I would be most greatful.

Cute Donut Monkey Crochet Kit

I mean… who wouldn’t fall in love with a monkey hugging a donut? This Cute Donut Monkey Crochet Kit from HiCrochet might just be the most adorable thing I’ve seen all week. It’s sweet, silly, and totally irresistible. Whether you’re new to amigurumi or just love a good weekend project that makes you smile, this kit has everything you need to bring this donut-loving little monkey to life. The design is playful and full of personality—and let’s be honest, that donut accessory is a whole mood.

This kit would make the cutest gift—either made up or as a DIY surprise for a crafty friend. It’s beginner-friendly, super fun to stitch, and the final result is something you’ll want to show off on every shelf (or maybe sneak into your snack drawer for fun). If you’re looking for a lighthearted project with maximum “aww” factor, this little donut monkey definitely delivers. Let me know if you make one—I’d love to see how yours turns out!
