DOILY Crochet BEAUTIES

February 13, by jd wolfe. 9 Comments

This picture does NOT do justice to the outstanding doilies in the book “Stellar Beauties” by Julie Haberberger.  If you’re a fan of Terry Kimbrough, you’ll like these afghans.  They are stunning, densely crocheted, with fine detail.  For someone wanting more of a runner than a doily, these will work well.  Since they have fewer holes, the doilies offer more protection to the tabletop.  My favorite is the one pictured here, ‘Extravaganza’ as I love its unusual shape.  Every doily in this collection is a winner!

Leisure Arts book #4404, 31 pages, great color photos, retails for $8.95.

ISBN 9781604016477

The title of the book is actually “Stellar Beauties”, isn’t it? At least, that is what I could find on Amazon. I couldn’t find one titled “Stella Beauties”.

YEP! You’re right. It’s Stellar Beauties. I had to look at it several times to see the ‘r’ hidden over the ‘B’. Good eye!
    Thanks,
    jd

I bouight the booklet as I think the doilies are gorgeous–I am crocheting the runner Extravaganza and wonder if when I am finished [2&1/2 arounds to go] if it will lay flat–the cluster stitches seem to want to curve so much–I also have trouble counting some of the stitches–how many popcorns are there?? Anyone else have any problems? Sandy

I am so happy that you all are enjoying the patterns that I have designed. And yes the doily will lay flat if it is washed and blocked. Happy crocheting!
    Julie.

I am crocheting the Extravaganza Doily. I have torn it out three times. It is a hard one to crochet. It is awfully ruffily as well. What is wrong with this? I think it is beautiful though.

    Mary and Kim,
Sorry to learn you’re having problems with the doily. Perhaps Julie Haberberger will see this message and reply with some help. She has posted here before, but I don’t know how to contact her. I haven’t made this one myself, so I’m not much help.

23 Christmas Nutcracker Crochet Patterns

Welcome to our collection of 23 Christmas Nutcracker Crochet patterns! The nutcracker is a beloved Christmas tradition that has been enjoyed by families all around the world for centuries.

The history of the nutcracker dates back to the early 19th century, when it was first crafted by a German workshop in the town of Seiffen. The original nutcrackers were made of wood and were designed to crack the hard shells of nuts, which were a staple food during the winter months.

As the years passed, the nutcracker evolved into a beloved holiday decoration and symbol of Christmas. Today, nutcrackers can be found in a variety of shapes and sizes, and they are often given as gifts to friends and loved ones during the holiday season.

Our collection of 23 Christmas Nutcracker Crochet patterns includes a wide range of designs, from classic nutcracker soldiers to more playful and whimsical characters. We hope that these patterns will inspire you to create your own nutcrackers and add them to your holiday decorations.

As for me, I have always had a special place in my heart for nutcrackers. Growing up, my family had a small collection of nutcrackers that we would bring out every year to decorate our home. Each one had its own unique personality, and I would spend hours admiring their intricate details and craftsmanship.

To this day, the sight of a nutcracker brings back memories of Christmases past and fills me with warmth and joy. I hope that these crochet patterns will inspire you to create your own nutcrackers and start your own holiday tradition. Happy crocheting!
