Do you like the Dollar Stores (by a variety of names) as much as I do? I refuse to buy their sweatshop crocheted items, but occasionally I find items there that I can use in my crochet work. Here are some ideas.
Like I said, don’t buy their doilies. But, do pick up a couple cute bars of soap and crochet your own doily cover. Make it pretty.

Rather than raiding your button stash for what might be antique (thus valuable) buttons, buy a bag of cheap-o buttons such as these shirt buttons or some color-themed kiddie types, and make a cute necklace.

Dig around at the dollarstorecrafts.com site and you’ll find other appealing ideas for crochet – and other crafting. Hard to go wrong when you can make a gift, home decor project, or a bauble for yourself for about $1.
