Crochet Snowflake Pattern ??
Materials:
- Yarn: Lightweight or cotton thread (white, silver, or any color of your choice)
- Hook: 3.5mm (E) or appropriate size for your yarn
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
- Blocking supplies (optional, for shaping)
Stitches Used (US Terms):
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- tr = treble crochet
- picot = ch 3, sl st into the first ch
Pattern Instructions
Round 1: Start with a magic ring (or ch 4, sl st to form a ring).
- Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 11 dc into the ring.
- Join with sl st to top of ch-3. (12 dc total)
Round 2:
- Ch 4 (counts as tr), 1 tr in the next st, ch 3. Repeat * around.
- Sl st into the top of the first tr. (12 tr, 12 ch-3 spaces)
Round 3:
- Sl st into first ch-3 space, ch 1, sc, ch 5, sc in same space.
- Repeat * in each ch-3 space around.
- Join with sl st to first sc. (12 ch-5 loops)
Round 4:
- Sl st into first ch-5 space, ch 1, sc, ch 3, dc, picot, dc, ch 3, sc in same space.
- Repeat in each ch-5 space around.
- Sl st to first sc and fasten off.
Finishing Touches:
- Weave in ends using a tapestry needle.
- Block the snowflake using a stiffin quick or a mixture of water and glue to stiffen it
