Do you like these?
They are handy for containing balls of yarn that have been wound from hanks. They keep the little yarn ‘muffins’ from losing their shape and running all over the floor while you’re crocheting. But, inexpensive tho’ they may be, they’re still an expense.
My smart husband saw me with a ball of yarn in the mesh bra and came up with this clever, and free, idea.
The ones I have right now, ready to be loaded with yarn, are from 4 lb bags of navel oranges from Aldi. They’re large enough that, with the use of twist ties or a scrap of yarn or twine, I can make two yarn bras from each produce bag. Next come the onion bags, the potato bags, and the smaller bag of garlic or Key Limes. After the Key Lime Pie comes the key lime crocheting…….

Among other things, I save mesh bags from onions and garlic. I currently have a ball of yarn that I am working with in a garlic bag. I am trying to be as green and as frugal as possible. i hope you will pass along any other uses you might find because I have a shopping bag full of mesh bags waiting to be reborn!
