June 23, 2012 is the date for the Susan G. Komen Run For The Cure in St. Louis. Near the Arch, there will be thousands of mostly women (but men and kids too) who will come together to walk and run as a fund raiser and morale booster in our ongoing search for a cure for breast cancer. I must say that I am about ‘pinked out’ because of all the local and international support for breast cancer awareness with the seemingly ever present Pink Ribbon. Ball players will wear pink armbands. Running and walking shoes come in a special pink version. Pink tee shirts, head bands, sunglasses, soda cans, etc. So many companies have jumped on this band wagon that there is a real risk of pink ‘fatigue’.
I was feeling that way until I ran across this pattern for the In Remembrance Square. This square is a very sweet design and would be a great gift as a single square face cloth (or framed) or repeated enough times to create a full sized afghan. It would be a lovely motif to use for a prayer shawl. Doesn’t have to be pink either.
In addition to this pattern, April (Crochet Amore) has lots of other free patterns and a great collection of patterns for sale. The designs are both lovely and cleverly presented.
One of my favorites is the Pear – or is it an Apple? You judge. A simple change of perspective decides it.
There are plenty of great designs, both free and to purchase, on this site, that you’ll spend some time browsing around to find all the goodies – like I did! I will be spending more time on this blog to be sure I don’t miss any of the designs.
We love the concept of making long-lasting re-usable dishcloths that are practical and help save the environment. We highly suggest using a 100% Cotton yarn as it stays fresh longer. Looking for more Dishcloth patterns? Check these crochet patterns out on Etsy. Dishcloths come in so many different designs and themes which makes them perfect little handmade gifts. Everyone can always use a dishcloth right?
