Knots Of Love

September 8, 2012 by jd wolfe

Have you heard of this wonderful charity Knots of Love?  Most of us can whip up a cap or two in an evening.  So many caps are needed – caps for kids, for women, for men – who have lost their hair due to medical conditions or treatments.

Here is a video you can watch – and if you vote for Knots of Love here, you might help them win more grant money.  The video is very informative.  You can see how hard the volunteers work to move the donated caps to the people who need to wear them.

This is one we can all participate in.  I know a lot of my readers already crochet caps for various charities.  This one would be a great one to add to your list.  Each One Make One.  Sound good?  It will make you feel good too!

Knots of Love and How You Can Help

Knots of Love is a remarkable non-profit organization that has been making a difference in the lives of individuals facing challenging circumstances since its establishment in 2007. Their mission revolves around providing lovingly hand-knit and crocheted beanies to people undergoing chemotherapy and blankets for babies in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) incubators. The organization’s dedication to offering warmth, comfort, and support through these handmade creations has touched the lives of over half a million individuals in the past 15 years.

If you are inspired by the mission of Knots of Love and would like to contribute to their cause, there are several ways you can make a meaningful impact:

Volunteer your time and talent: Knots of Love has a thriving community of over 10,000 dedicated and compassionate makers who generously donate their knitting or crocheting skills. By joining this community, you can use your creativity to craft beanies and blankets that will bring comfort to those in need. Whether you’re an experienced knitter or a beginner eager to learn, your contribution can make a significant difference.

Donate yarn and materials: Knots of Love relies on donated yarn and materials to create their handmade items. If you have unused or extra yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, or other crafting supplies, consider donating them to the organization. Your contribution will help ensure a steady supply of materials for volunteers to continue their work.

Make a financial donation: Monetary contributions play a crucial role in sustaining the operations of Knots of Love. They help cover the costs of shipping, distributing handmade items, and supporting the organization’s various programs. By making a financial donation, you directly support the mission of providing free beanies and blankets to those in need.

Spread the word: Help raise awareness about Knots of Love and their mission by sharing their story with your friends, family, and social networks. By spreading the word, you can inspire others to get involved and support this meaningful cause.

Knots of Love embodies the power of compassion, creativity, and community. By joining their efforts, you have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals going through challenging times. Whether you choose to volunteer your time, donate materials, contribute financially, or simply spread awareness, your support can bring warmth, comfort, and love to those who need it most. Together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and make a difference in the world, one handmade creation at a time.

This is a great idea. The craft has to give a valuable impact too into the lives of people, besides being just beautiful. Thanks for sharing this with us!
