MORE FLOWERS

August 30, 2009 by jd wolfe

Seems as if people are always asking for free patterns for crochet flowers.  There are so many ways to use these lovelies.  Applique them to purses or jackets, join to create a textured shawl of capelet, add to a headband or bookbag.  The possibilities are limited only to your creativity and ideas of practicality.

Here are some newer links to pretty flowers I’ve found.  These would be pretty layered on a purse with bead or button centers:

Use up all your fun fur or other novelty yarns to create some pretty flowers like this:

I’m particularly fond of freeforming my own flowers – somewhat like this piece:

With a little experimentation and very little effort, you can learn to freeform crochet your own flowers.  Go to this site for a good practice piece of freeform:

I really enjoyed your site. The biggest thing I would suggest is please no foreign sites.I hate when I am sent to these site to get a cute pattern, only to find out that they’re not in english. At least let us know that there are not english.

Cute Donut Monkey Crochet Kit

I mean… who wouldn’t fall in love with a monkey hugging a donut? This Cute Donut Monkey Crochet Kit from HiCrochet might just be the most adorable thing I’ve seen all week. It’s sweet, silly, and totally irresistible. Whether you’re new to amigurumi or just love a good weekend project that makes you smile, this kit has everything you need to bring this donut-loving little monkey to life. The design is playful and full of personality—and let’s be honest, that donut accessory is a whole mood.

This kit would make the cutest gift—either made up or as a DIY surprise for a crafty friend. It’s beginner-friendly, super fun to stitch, and the final result is something you’ll want to show off on every shelf (or maybe sneak into your snack drawer for fun). If you’re looking for a lighthearted project with maximum “aww” factor, this little donut monkey definitely delivers. Let me know if you make one—I’d love to see how yours turns out!
