I love the soft look of this Chevron Scarf and think it will be soft and warm for the cold St. Louis winters. It will also work up quickly. Elise has a free pattern and tutorial for us so we can all make one. This is a project on which I would definitely use a Superwash Merino yarn like Jojoland Melody so I wouldn’t have to worry about treating it delicately. My scarves get hard use as I walk outside and work up a real sweat. So, I have a lot of scarves and they all must be machine washable. I don’t mind having to lay them out to dry as they will dry overnight, but I refuse to take scarves to the dry cleaners. One of my pet peeves.
While you’re on Elise’s site, you can see her many other free patterns. You’ll find other scarf patterns, lots of flowers, a great Owl Cap and Owl Purse for the little ones – or maybe not so little – and plenty of other goodies you’ll add to your WIM list. I’ve featured some of her designs before, but she’s always adding new items, so check back from time to time to see what she’s come up with. Always a treat!
