The Free Bernat Cloud Stitch Crochet Blanket is a project that completely stole my heart. From the moment I saw the pattern, I knew I had to make it. There’s just something about that soft, pillowy texture that screams cozy, and let me tell you, it’s every bit as delightful as it looks.
One of my favorite things about this pattern is the cloud stitch itself. It’s such a simple yet stunning technique that creates a beautifully plush and luxurious feel. Pair that with the Bernat Blanket Yarn, and you’ve got the perfect combination for maximum comfort. The yarn is so soft and squishy, making it an absolute dream to work with. I went with a light gray and white combo for a modern, neutral look, but the color possibilities are endless. You could easily play around with bold shades or mix and match to fit any style.
The Free Crochet pattern itself is straightforward and beginner-friendly. Once you get into the rhythm of the repeat, it’s incredibly relaxing. It’s one of those projects where you can zone out, listen to a podcast, or watch your favorite show while your hands work away. Plus, since it uses bulky yarn, the blanket works up quickly. That’s always a bonus, especially when you want a satisfying finish without committing months to a single project.
If you’re planning to tackle this blanket, I have a couple of tips. First, use a light grip and a larger hook since the chunky yarn can get a bit heavy on your hands after a while. Second, while the pattern is generously sized (which is fantastic for cozying up), it’s super easy to adjust if you want to make it smaller or larger. It’s versatile like that.
What I love most is how this blanket turns out looking like something you’d buy from a boutique, but you can make it yourself for a fraction of the cost. It’s perfect as a gift or for your own home. I’m already planning on making a few more as holiday presents—they’re just too good not to share.
If you’re on the fence about starting this project, let me just say, do it. The Bernat Cloud Stitch Crochet Blanket is fun to make, absolutely gorgeous, and ridiculously cozy. Once you finish it, you’ll be so proud to wrap yourself—or someone you love—in something this beautiful
Love the colors, love the st, reminds me a lot of the beginning of a pineapple, my favorite st. I know my daughter and granddaughter would love these too, hugs, Mary
Lovely worth with beautiful colors!
It’s so beautiful !! I love it. The pattern and the colors,
I would LOVE to purchase the pattern for this if you have it for sale. I would like to add crochet to a tank top for my 13-year-old daughter. She loves all things frilly. A few local stores have crochet tops or tops trimmed with crochet but I consider them inappropriate for her age. Would love to make one for her by attaching this lace to an existing top. Thanks so much! Denise
I love the Queen Anne’s lace. I want to try it soon x0xx0
They are all beautiful and I would love any one of them, but turquoise makes my heart pitter patter…
