What NOT to Crochet? Who says so?

OOOH, Maybe they got it right with this one. Pretty

but disorienting, to say the least!

What, I ask you, is wrong with this?

funfur crochet

not my style, but sorta cute
When I ran across the site :

http://whatnottocrochet.wordpress.com/

I had to check it out. I was amazed at some of the things that the knitting site owner found unworthy. For each of those projects, I could point out a similar number in knit – projects that just DO NOT WORK!

Well, I’m just practical enough that I’m not going to crochet a sweater or afghan with ‘FunFur’! Not only do I not need the extra bulk on my frame that such yarn would add, I can’t imagine caring for such an item. I find FunFur fine for a smattering of trim on other items. IMO it should be used as an accent only. But – that’s just my opinion.

I do visit that site from time to time and have learned from other crocheters that there is a similar site called ‘What Not to Knit’. That gives me some comfort! Don’t know if it’s a crocheter or knitter who moderates that site – but at least there is parity in the Yarniverse so I am happy.

So, instead of paying attention to what NOT to crochet – I say, just go crochet SOMETHING. It’s stress reducing, fun, not terribly expensive, productive, and satisfying. Who could ask for anything more?

It is an unfair assumption that the owner of the blog is a knitter. I recommend you check out her personal blog called “Safety Boots and Crochet.” She’s a crocheter!

LOL, For those who don’t know what is wrong with it, wear it so the rest of us can snicker.
