I ran across this flikr.com account that has oodles of wonderful pictures, most of which are nature inspired. This artist has posted her own and the work of others. I love rocks and have wrapped some with wire and beads BC (before crochet). Check these out:

Happy Hooking (JoAnne CP:) says
Hi JD,
I have a book at home (at work now) that has “inspired” patterns for crocheting onto rocks. I say inspired because it’s more a free hand kind of thing, seeing rocks are all different. I started one at the end of the summer and never picked it back up again. I thought it would be a nice addition to my painted rocks from camp. I love nature and being out in it, anything I can do to bring the outdoors in is great. I’ll have to pick that rock back up again!
Happy Hooking!
JoAnne
JoAnne,
Would love to have the name of this book. River rocks are so pretty with no embellishment – but even better with yarn, wire, charms, beads, etc. I have several large painted rocks that have been given to me. One is a huge dinosaur a friend made when second son was born, almost 25 years ago. I cherish it.
